• What is Christmas for the City?

    Christmas for the City is a Christmas Party that celebrates the story of Christmas, a family-friendly event and a place to create great Christmas memories.

  • What can I expect to find at Christmas for the City?

    Art, music, drama and fun activities. Activities for kids: toy making, photo with Santa, animal rides, bouncy castles, face-painting plus much more! Food available for purchase from food stalls. Cultural expressions of Christmas.

  • When is Christmas for the City?

    Saturday December 16th, 2017. The event runs from 4pm - 9pm

  • Where is the event?

    At the Ara City Campus (formerly known as CPIT). You can access the event from either Madras Street or Barbadoes Street. Look out for the Christmas For The City signage.

  • What is the admission price?

    This event is FREE to get into and all activities are completely free! There will be food available for purchase.

  • How do I get there?

    There are lots of bus routes that travel via Ara. Check your route map to see if yours does. The bus exchange is just a short walk from Ara too! Or hop on your bike and make your way to this event. There are plenty of spots to park your bike. Alternatively, jump in your car and pick some mates up on the way.

  • Where can I park?

    There is lots of street parking all around Ara. You’ll also find lots of pop-up carparks around the Barbadoes Street side.

  • I want to bring a bus load of mates – where do we park our bus?

  • Will the site be accessible for those with disabilities?

    Yes! The entire campus is setup to accommodate friends with disabilities

  • Can I smoke while at the event?

    The Ara Campus is proudly smokefree!

  • You'll have food for sale. Will I be able to buy alcohol too?

    As this is a family event, it is also an alcohol-free zone. Please respect this and refrain from bringing alcohol along to the event.

  • The event runs from 4-9pm – will I be there the entire time?

    It’s up to you! Stay as long as you like and make the most of all there is to offer.

  • Will you provide childcare?

    Childcare won’t be provided but there are lots of fun activities for children and their families to engage with.

  • Are buggies permitted?

    Yes
